The chalk white building right next to this house is the "The Kyoto University Research Centre for the Cultural Sciences", also known as a masterpiece of modern Japanese architecture constructed in the fifth year of Showa period. It was also the time when this residential area became an affluent neighborhood.

"The Kyoto University Research Centre for the Cultural Sciences" was designed by Kenzo Tohata and Goichi Takeda who was also called the father of Kansai architect industry.
