- The last Taisho Roman of Heisei period -
Welcome to the world of Taisho Roman
Behind the exotic beige wall and the sweet emerald green window frame were 4 architects and designers with romantic passion towards the Taisho period.
These 4 men went on a mission to complete the last Taisho Roman house before Heisei period ends.
Let the retro music guide you in
It feels as if the music from the 1920s started playing in the background as you entered this house.
So nostalgic that even someone who was not born during that time can feel a time slip back to the old days, filled with romance.
'Tadaima!' 'Okaeri!' as you are welcomed back home.
Dynamic hexagon shaped ceiling
The time slip gets deeper as you opened the door decorated in classic stained glass.
You are now surrounded, and perhaps overwhelmed, by the hexagon shaped ceiling above your head, as if they were vines that crawled over the house in a systematic order.
The result is a space with delicacy that is dynamic at the same time.
Charming emerald green
Wood lad siding painted in emerald green connects the inner and outer space of the house seamlessly.
Invite your loved one to a dance in the early afternoon with the music playing from a gramophone.
「Early afternoon romance, 1pm.」
Elegance in reception
A petite and elegant reception room for the guests, but also for yourself during tea time.
Savor a home-made cake with a cup of coffee. Let the fragrance of roasted coffee beans fill up the space up to the framed style ceiling.
This house and space is something that will definitely bring back a man's romance to be picky and precious to the smallest details.
「Tea time romance, 3pm.」
A red carpet of your own
How romantic it is to start dinner walking down the red carpet, as if you are the heroine from a movie.
It gets even more romantic for a man to escort his love up the stairway, or they can even start a musical of their own and dance all the way up.
There must be magic on the red carpet that makes one more adventurous as the blush from shame will naturally blend in with the red.
「Romance after dinner time, 8pm.」
Colorful stained glass
As you climb your way up the stairs, a bright stained glass awaits.
It is based on a colorful painting of a basket of fruits, and the stained glass itself was made back in the 1930s.
Have a peace of mind
A peaceful world of wabi sabi awaits on the second floor. It starts with a soft R-shaped entrance into the Tatami room, and then at the back is a petite hobby room just for yourself.
As the hobby room faces the south, plenty of sun light comes in during the day for reading, craft works, and a quiet nap.
「Wabi Sabi Romance, 9pm.」
Fall in love with William Morris
Before bed, embrace yourself in the final piece of Taisho Roman, a wallpaper by William Morris, the father of modern design and pattern.
Staring into the flower pattern, you can almost hear his poem 'Love is Enough' at the back of your head.
The void shall not weary, the fear shall not alter
These lips and these eyes of the loved and the lover.
「Romance before bed. Good night.」
