CONCEPT

Twin Rabbit Hutch

Two Kyo-machiyas side by side with almost the same land and floor area. However, through renovation we were able to give both of them unique characteristics on the inside, just like twins with similar appearances but distinctive personalities.

The two houses locate in the Nishijin area where craftsmen used their homes for both working and living.

In such area, the south hutch comes with a spacious entrance area where its resident can use it as an atelier or working space for different projects.

The north hutch focuses more on the living room and kitchen area where its resident can invite friends over and transform the kitchen counter to a bar counter.

The north residence comes with a spacious kitchen counter. Looking at the kitchen from the living room, it looks like there is a shop inside the house where all sorts of delicious food come out. You may want to line up the stools infront of the counter and enjoy it like a bar.
