Also famous for its sauna bath "Kamaburo" where Emperor Tenmu stayed to heal his wound from war back in the 7th century (year 672). Now it is a quiet getaway spot for the kyoto locals.

Natural beauties of Yase

Located at the upstream of Kamogawa river and Takano river, Yase is where you can enjoy listening to the sound of water streams from close by.

Takano river is also called Yase river, and famous for being a secret spot for cherry blossom viewing in spring. You can also get astonishing view of autumn leaves from the Eizan cable car, or by foot.

Historical sites like Yase Tenmangu Shrine and Rurikoin temple are also close by.
