A scenic land spreading out at the foot of Mt. Ogura

Praising the beautiful autumn leaves of Mt. Ogura, this is one of the poets from the famous classical Japanese anthology “One Hundred Poems from One Hundred Poets (Ogura Hyakunin Isshu)”.
Once you step into Sagano from the crowded Arashiyama area, you will notice that the surrounding scenery changes completely. During the Heian period, it was prospered as a villa district for aristocrats and is one of the most scenic spots in Kyoto that has been loved by many since ancient times.
