Fushimi, famous as a place for sake, was once a castle town as one of the ”57 post stations of Tokaido", and has developed as a transportation hub connecting Kyoto, Osaka, and Nara.
Up to now, the town of Fushimi still retains the remnants of that time. It also has rich underground water resources, which have come to be called "Fushimizu" (resembles Fushimi and subterranean river in Japanese) that can produce high-quality sake. Therefore, many atmospheric breweries such as Matsumoto Sake Brewery and Gekkeikan are located here. It is a town where you can scent history and culture.

About a 12-minute walk east from the property (approx. 924m, in front of Fushimi-Momoyama Castle) are the ruins of Fushimi-Momoyama Castle, built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi and Tokugawa Ieyasu, and the restored castle (currently not accessible) can still be seen. The castle is lit up on weekends and has become a landmark of Fushimi. The Fushimi-Momoyama Castle Athletic Park is a spot where children can play sports and have fun.
The area from Fushimi-Momoyama Castle to Emperor Meiji's Fushimi-Momoyama Mausoleum is also a popular running course.
