The living-dining-kitchen is a well-ventilated space with windows on both the front and back. The built-in shelves made for this house can be used as storage as long as for decoration. Although the kitchen is compact, an island-type workbench with a sink is installed so a few people can enjoy cooking together surrounding the kitchen. The textured brown tiles are also a key point of the kitchen.
The cafe-style interior window with chic wallpaper at the entrance, the washroom with high windows that sunlight shines through, and the south-facing Tatami room on the 2nd floor that retains the floor plan of the original house. Subtle design features with a retro taste are studded here and there throughout the house.
Despite 10 years has been passed since the renovation was done, it is possible to live as it is as the kitchen and sanitary are cleanly used and well-maintained.

Narutaki, an area in Ukyo Ward where nature remains with trees planted along the river and the Omuro River flows. Many cherry blossom trees are planted between Narutaki and Utano along the Keifuku Electric Railroad tram that runs through the residential area. In springtime, it is known as the "Sakura Train" that runs through the rows of cherry blossom trees. It is a town with a relaxed ambiance where nature remains in a residential area.

A retro house in a calm residential area
Many of the surrounding houses have gardens, and the Omuro River flows through this calm residential area. Narutaki, Ukyo Ward, is a place where you can feel close to nature. Here we'd like to introduce a house in the Narutaki area.
The building is a slightly old house built about 40 years ago. About 10 years ago in 2013, Hachise renovated it with its original atmosphere kept. At the time, "walnut color" was used as a key color, and the renovation was carried out to give it a retro and calm image.
In front of this house is a parking area, so you can commute by car to Kyoto city. It is also convenitent for daily shopping since supermarkets are lined up right next to the main street. A warm house with just the right size for small families, such as couples with one child, newlyweds, or retired couples after their children has become independent.
