Alley Machiya in a historic Hanamachi

In recent years, the number of Machiya townhouses in Kyoto has been decreasing due to demolition and other reasons.
Why don't you become an owner of a Machiya and pass on the culture to the next generation by preserving it?

The property introduced here is an owner-change Machiya for profitable investment, currently occupied by a tenant.

The 2DK layout is just right for one or two people. Conveniently located in Higashiyama, where all the famous sights of the ancient capital are concentrated, this property is within walking distance to Gion and Pontocho, as well as the shopping area Shijo-Kawaramachi.

A "small investment property" is also a convenient option for organizing and utilizing your assets. This property is also recommended for those who want to start real estate investment to prepare for the future.
(Please note that the property is currently leased, so we are not able to show you the interior of it.)

Kyoto's Representative Hanamachi

The Hanamachi (Geisha district) was formed around the precincts of Kenninji Temple, the oldest Zen Buddhism temple in Japan. In the latter half of the 16th century, Toyotomi Hideyoshi built Houkouji Temple and Fushimi Castle. While the traffic along Yamatooji Street began to increase, downtown areas started to form around in the district. The area south of Shijo on the Kamo River was called Miyagawa River because of the annual washing of the "Mikoshis" (portable shrines) of the Gion Shrine, and Miyagawa-cho was established along this river.
There are 5 Hanamachis in Kyoto: Gionkobu and Gionhigashi in front of Yasaka Shrine, Ponto-cho and Miyagawa-cho along the Kamo River, and Kamishichiken near Kitano Tenmangu Shrine.
This property is located just a stone's throw away from Miyagawa-cho, a historic Hanamachi, in a quiet alley with elegant cobblestone streets.

物件の見どころ
Point

  1. 01.Stone pavement

The stone-paved streets lined with rows of Machiya townhouses hung with lanterns are truly Kyoto. If you listen carefully, you can almost hear the footsteps of Maiko (apprentice Geisha) walking along the cobblestone pavement.

  2. 02.Alleyway

The lights at the foot of the street dimly illuminate a little ahead. Walking down the brightly lit alleyway, which has a somewhat floating atmosphere, you can relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life.

  3. 03.Dining-Kitchen

The dining-Kitchen is as spacious as 9.5 sqm. It is designed with a window on the upper part of the wall to allow for good lighting. If you take out the Tatami mats, you can use it as a large room with wooden flooring without problems.

  4. 04.Japanese-style room

The Fusuma sliding door in the Japanese-style room on the 2F is decorated with a pale cherry blossom painting, giving the room a distinctly Japanese flavor. Taking advantage of its compactness, this room can be considered as a study, a workroom for teleworking, or a multi-use space where you can concentrate when you want to.
