Learn the spirit of "Omotenashi",
and help your guests experience the same.


We have arranged an event for 6 groups of participants (Maximum 2 people per group) to experience the 「OMOTENASHI HOUSE」 produced by Hachise. The event consists of authentic Japanese experiences such as tea ceremonies or wagashi making inside the Omotenashi House.

Main Program

  • Wagashi Workshop 9/21 (Fri)

    Nanami from KyoKashitsukasa Yoshihiro will be demonstrating the way to make Wagashi, a traditional Japanese sweet with more than 300 years of history.


    Mizuuchi Nanami

    As a rarity being a female artisan in the Wagashi world, Nanami has more than twenty years of experiences and has received several awards in Japan.

  • Tea Ceremony 9/22 (Sat)

    Tyas Sōsen from The Tea Crane will be hosting a tea ceremony while introducing the beauty, culture, and mindset of Tea/Sado.

    Tyas Sōsen is the first Belgian certified as a Nihoncha Instructor. He conducts demonstrations, lectures and workshops concerning the tradition, philosophy and aesthetics of Japanese tea.

Property Tour 【See Omotenashi House】

Hachise's Ochiumi Producer and architect Mr. Sakai from DICETTA will be taking you through the house and explain the charming "Omotenashi" points.
*Property tour will happen on both 9/21 and 9/22 in both Japanese and English.

    Kimono

    TekuTeku provides varieties of antique Kimonos in pure silk for both men and women. These Kimonos fit perfectly with the cityscapes of Kyoto.

    ※Rental Kimonos need to be returned to the shop before 8:30pm.

    A local restaurant based in Enmachi area that caters beautifully decorated platters around Kyoto city.

    A coffee shop well known to the locals in Shimabara area that serves delicious home-roasted coffee.

      ・Hachise staff will assist you during the kimono dress up.

      Dressed in Kimono
      ・Hachise staff will take you to the event venue after dressing up.

      Property Tour
      Ochiumi Producer and Sakai from DICETTA will take you on a property tour and explain the charming points of the house.

      Wagashi Workshop (9/21)・Tea Ceremony (9/22)
      ・Please be aware of the dates for each program.

      ・Consult with Hachise staff regarding this property or Kyoto properties in general.

      ・We recommend you to take a walk at Yasaka Shrine or in the Nanzenji Temple area near by. Please note that you need to return the Kimonos to TekuTeku by 20:30.
