Ginkakuji Temple and Philosopher’s Path are within walking distance,
and there are small individual shops near there.
It’s an atractive area to stroll around.

Zen Experience of a Lifetime!

Beautiful, spacious, and zen! This traditional Kyoto style home is nested within walking distance from the Ginkakuji Temple and Philosopher's Path. It is a block away from the Kyoto University with a great selection of small restaurants and cute Japanese/French cafes. Our favorite ramen and takoyaki stand is only 5 minute stroll. Access to Demachiyanagi station is also convenient; although we found that bicycling is the best mode of transportation to enjoy the gorgeous scenery and to experience life as a local. This Kyo-machiya has been renovated beautifully with new furnishings for both small families and working travelers in mind. There is plenty of natural light upstairs and on the main floor. The best part of the house is the view of the garden from the living room; a perfect place to enjoy tea and relax after a day of exploration. We are truly impressed with the Hachise team and their amazing hospitality. They provided quick support and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable.
